If you are selling to the B2B marketplace, you may want to tap into Linked In. Linked In is a fantastic resource. It gives you the unique ability to connect with key decision makers Linked In audience statistics. It is like going to a networking event while staying in your PJ’s and sipping coffee. You don’t have to worry about your coffee breath or that lint on your jacket. All you have to do is bring your personality and expertise to the table. Here are a few ways to make yourself stand out from the crowd.
1. Put keywords into your title- Instead of just clicking on the marketing and advertising try to put in your keywords into your job title as well as through your summary and special interests. This will help your visibility when people are looking for experts in a certain industry.
2. If you have a blog, add it to your profile. Linked In makes it very easy to add a wordpress or typepad application to your profile. This helps to showcase your talent.

5. Put a recent picture on your profile. Make sure it is professional and not from 1982.
6. Have you done a really cool slideshare or power point presentation that really knocked your prospects socks off? You can display it using the slideshare application to really show what you are made of!
7. Join groups and start your own. Make the most of this community. People will network with you only if you make yourself a part of things. Do you go to a networking event and stand in a corner and not make a sound? Do you stand on top of a table, eating all the shrimp and start screaming “Hey everyone I am in XYZ industry you should buy from me!” Of course not! Social Networking Groups are the same way. Listen to the conversations and if you have an opening where you can add something valuable, do so.
